How to Care

  • Spot cleaning: This is the safest option for most small spills or stains. Use a damp microfiber cloth and a mild detergent solution. Dab the affected area gently, avoiding harsh scrubbing. Rinse the cloth with clean water and blot the area dry with a clean towel.

  • Hand washing: Fill a large basin with cool water and a small amount of mild detergent suitable for delicates. Submerge the pillow completely and gently massage the water through the fabric. Avoid wringing or twisting the pillow, as this can damage the filling. Rinse thoroughly with clean water until the soap suds disappear.

Drying:

  • Air drying: This is essential to avoid damaging the filling or shrinking the cotton satin cover. Place the pillow flat on a drying rack or clean, absorbent surface indoors, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. You can also use a fan to circulate air and speed up drying.

  • Do not:

    • Wring or twist the pillow.

    • Place the pillow in a dryer, as the heat can damage the filling and shrink the fabric.

    • Hang the pillow to dry, as the weight of the water can strain the seams and filling.

General care tips:

  • Sun exposure: While drying, you can place the pillow in indirect sunlight for a short time to help kill bacteria and freshen it up. But avoid prolonged sun exposure, as it can fade the cotton satin.

  • Fluffing: Regularly fluff the pillow by gently kneading it to maintain its shape and prevent the filling from clumping.

  • Storage: When not in use, store the pillow in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust. You can place it in a breathable fabric bag or pillowcase to protect it.

Additional notes:

  • If the pillow has a significant stain or odor, professional cleaning might be necessary. Be sure to inform the cleaner about the filling and delicate nature of the cotton satin fabric.

  • Over time, even with proper care, the filling in the pillow might lose its loft and support. Consider replacing the pillow when it no longer feels comfortable or supportive.
